Find Happiness By Looking Inside

“If I could only figure this out, I think I could find
happiness.” That was the comment a close friend made during
a recent conversation. This is not the first time, nor will
it be the last that I hear this statement.

Many people believe that finding happiness is based on
finding something else they want. In my experience as a
personal coach, no one has ever found long term happiness
by achieving another goal. Ultimately, to find happiness is
to look within.

In my humor and healing programs, I do an exercise with red clown noses. Everyone in the audience gets a sealed packet with one inside. With their eyes closed, I ask them to think of some difficulty they are having and then, still with their eyes closed, to open the packet and put the clown nose on. Then I ask the audience to open their eyes and look around the room.

The Mind Body Connection - What Is It Really?

A war has been silently raging on now for hundreds of years. Do you know the one I mean? Rene Descartes inadvertently started it, early in the Seventeenth Century, when he proclaimed that the body and mind are separate. Even today then, this war continues, as knighted warriors dressed in alphabet soup armor and traditional deference do all they can to ruin the careers and lives of the unknighted, less deferential warriors all the while claiming they are doing this to protect the lives of innocent people.
