“If I could only figure this out, I think I could find
happiness.” That was the comment a close friend made during
a recent conversation. This is not the first time, nor will
it be the last that I hear this statement.
Many people believe that finding happiness is based on
finding something else they want. In my experience as a
personal coach, no one has ever found long term happiness
by achieving another goal. Ultimately, to find happiness is
to look within.

Sunshine, No Matter What the Weather is
By Carine Nadel
It hadn’t been long-3 months that our home had been pet-less. First, we lost our 13 year old cat Snowy. Then we lost our 12 year old dog Lucky.
We were a family of four and my husband and I ran a home day care with a dozen kids daily but the house felt empty. We had never been without a “furry” kid.
We were heartbroken at these losses.

The problems teens face are unique and challenging - every teen goes through rough spots that triggers their anger. But anger can be disruptive to everything in your life - and hence managing it is vital.
What is anger
To manage anger, you have to first understand what it is. Anger isn’t wrong, or bad. But more importantly, it doesn’t give you power. Anger is a defence mechanism. It lets you and others know that something is wrong - that someone is doing something that you don’t like.

Feeling happy is all about your thoughts. You can’t have a feeling without first having a thought. Therefore, if you’re feeling happy, it’s because you’re thinking happy thoughts.
Same is true for sad. If you’re sad, it’s because you’re thinking sad thoughts.
So the secret to happiness is to pay attention to your feelings. They’ll keep you on track. They’re the feedback to tell you what you’re thinking.
Yeah. I know. We’re the ones doing the thinking, so we should know what we’re thinking. Right?
Not if we’re not paying attention.

Unhappiness has many faces. The enraged driver in the car behind you, red-faced, fists flailing and horn honking. The exhausted parent at the grocery store who can’t seem to get the kids to sit quietly in the cart. The disgruntled worker slumped at his desk, mindlessly internet-surfing the hours away and growing more agitated by the minute. The relationship partner who feels unappreciated and misunderstood, and wants to shout it angrily to the world.
How many times have you been one of the people mentioned above? You know the feeling. You’re unfulfilled, aggravated, bored, or impatient. The obstacle that stand in your way seems unsurmountable. Maybe this is a temporary, fleeting condition that comes and goes. But maybe not.
